Dark Star Orchestra at Franklin Music Hall: FAQs
When is Dark Star Orchestra performing at Franklin Music Hall?
The supplied event dates span November 25 through December 30, 2026. Check the event listing on allentowntickets.net for the specific Philadelphia performance date, show time, and current ticket availability.
What kind of concert is Dark Star Orchestra?
Dark Star Orchestra recreates complete Grateful Dead shows rather than performing a standard greatest-hits set. The Chicago-formed band has played more than 2,300 performances, carefully researching historical setlists and revealing the specific show they recreated after the performance. Expect a concert rooted in the Grateful Dead's expansive rock repertoire and Deadhead culture.
How long does a Dark Star Orchestra concert usually last?
Dark Star Orchestra performances typically run about three to four hours, with two full sets, an intermission, and an encore. The exact schedule can vary by show, so plan for an extended evening of live music.
What songs might Dark Star Orchestra play?
Each performance recreates a particular historical Grateful Dead setlist, so the exact songs are not announced in advance. Recent performances have included songs such as ?Dark Star,? ?Bird Song,? ?Franklin's Tower,? ?China Cat Sunflower,? ?Deal,? and ?Help on the Way.? Setlists vary from show to show, and the historical source is typically revealed after the performance.
What is the seating like at Franklin Music Hall?
Franklin Music Hall, at 421 N 7th St in Philadelphia's Callowhill neighborhood, has a capacity of approximately 2,500. Concerts typically use a general-admission standing floor, with an elevated balcony overlooking the stage. Seating may be available for some events, but the configuration can vary. Check the specific ticket listing for the setup offered for this performance.
Where are the best places to watch Dark Star Orchestra at Franklin Music Hall?
For a close, immersive concert experience, the center of the main floor is a strong choice, though it is standing room and can become crowded. The balcony offers an elevated view and may suit fans who prefer more space and a broad sightline. If choosing the balcony, center positions generally provide a clearer view than the far sides.
Are any views at Franklin Music Hall less desirable?
Views from the far sides of the balcony may be more limited than those from the center. On the general-admission floor, sightlines can also depend on crowd size and where you stand. Review the ticket details carefully, since availability and the event's specific floor or balcony configuration can differ.
What are the parking options for Franklin Music Hall?
Franklin Music Hall does not have a large dedicated parking lot. A small lot on 7th Street next to the venue has limited availability, and nearby street parking can be difficult to find on event nights. Nearby garages may be reservable through services such as SpotHero or ParkWhiz; booking ahead is recommended. Allow extra time and check parking rules before leaving your vehicle.
Is there a parking tip for getting to Franklin Music Hall?
Do not count on finding an open space in the small lot beside the venue or on nearby streets, particularly close to showtime. Reserving a garage in advance or taking public transit can make arrival easier. If driving, confirm the garage's location, hours, and event-night price before you go.
Can I take public transportation to Franklin Music Hall?
Yes. SEPTA's Route 47 bus serves the area, and Spring Garden Station on the Market-Frankford Line is within walking distance. Check SEPTA's current schedules and service alerts before travel, especially for your return trip after the show.
Are rideshare services available after the concert?
Uber and Lyft operate in Philadelphia, with drop-off and pickup available near the venue on N 7th Street. Post-show demand and traffic can increase wait times, so agree on a convenient pickup point and allow extra time to leave the area.
What are Franklin Music Hall's bag and age policies?
The supplied event information does not specify a bag policy or confirm the age restriction for this particular show. Venue rules and event requirements can vary, so check Franklin Music Hall's current guidance and the event listing before arriving. Dark Star Orchestra's audience is multigenerational, but that does not confirm the admission age for this performance.
